A Wolcott man pleaded guilty in Bridgeport federal court on October 19 to four offenses arising from a cryptocurrency investment scheme, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Connecticut.

Elmin Redzepagic, 25, admitted two wire-fraud counts, international money laundering and making a false statement to IRS investigators. Prosecutors said more than 10 victims lost a combined $1,159,945.34.

The government said Redzepagic promised investment returns between approximately May 2021 and March 2025, then demanded additional fees before purported profits could be withdrawn. Instead of investing the money, prosecutors said, he transferred it to an offshore gambling platform and lost victims’ funds gambling.

U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley scheduled sentencing for January 11, 2027. That is a scheduled proceeding, not a sentencing outcome. This report is based on the October 19 federal release, reread October 31; no later case outcome was verified.
