WATERFORD — One resident was displaced after a kitchen fire in a Rope Ferry Road apartment house on October 22, according to Fire Service Director Christopher M. Haley’s account reported by Patch.

The call came at about 12:14 p.m. Firefighters extinguished the blaze inside the two-story building. Haley said fire damage remained in the kitchen, while smoke affected the apartment; no injuries were reported.

Firefighting water-supply operations temporarily closed part of Route 156 between Avery Lane and Gallup Lane. Police reported the road reopened around 2 p.m. that day, according to Patch. This report describes the October 22 incident, not a current closure.
