VERNON — Steven Lemieux, 45, of Rockville, was sentenced October 23 to 30 years in prison, suspended after 15 years served, for sexual-assault and trafficking offenses, the Tolland Judicial District state’s attorney announced.
Judge Tejas Bhatt also ordered 15 years of supervised probation and lifetime sex-offender registration, according to the Division of Criminal Justice’s sentencing release.
Lemieux pleaded guilty August 14 in Superior Court in Rockville to one count each of conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual assault, first-degree sexual assault and trafficking in persons. The October announcement reports an imposed sentence, rather than the previously scheduled hearing alone.
Prosecutors said the case arose from abuse reported in February 2022 and an investigation involving Vernon police and an out-of-state law-enforcement agency. Identifying and graphic details about the protected victim are omitted.
