VILLANOVA, Pa. — UConn’s women’s soccer season ended Saturday, November 7, with a 2–1 loss at Villanova that left the Huskies outside the four-team Big East Championship.

Anya Montano scored her first collegiate goal in the 79th minute, volleying in a ball following a corner kick to erase Villanova’s lead. Morgan Kotch answered in the 84th minute, and UConn’s Ines Nourani struck the post in the 87th, according to UConn Athletics.

The Huskies finished 4–5–9 overall and 2–3–5 in the conference. Their 11 league points were insufficient to qualify for next week’s tournament in Boyds, Maryland.

UConn had appeared in seven consecutive Big East tournaments. The university said this is its first season without a conference championship appearance since 2019, when it competed in the American Athletic Conference.

UConn outshot Villanova 10–9 Saturday and led 6–3 in corner kicks, but finished the year 0–4–5 away from home.
