STORRS — UConn women’s volleyball heads to Butler and Xavier this weekend after securing its first Big East victory of the season, a four-set home win over Seton Hall on October 10.
The Huskies won 25–22, 19–25, 26–24, 25–14 at the UConn Volleyball Center, according to the university’s match report. The result left UConn 8–11 overall and 1–5 in conference play at the end of that match.
The third set proved pivotal: trailing 24–21, UConn scored five straight points. Jordyn Hughes finished the comeback with consecutive kills, giving the Huskies a two-sets-to-one advantage before they closed out the match.
UConn finished with a 16–4 edge in blocks. Sydney Borowy recorded 17 kills, Maja Daca added 12, and Courtney Grayson led the team with 11 blocks, the official recap said.
The October 13 road preview lists Butler on Friday, October 16, and Xavier on Saturday, October 17. UConn says the Butler match will stream on ESPN+ and the Xavier match on XAVIER+; viewers should check those services for access requirements.
UConn split the preceding weekend, losing to St. John’s before beating Seton Hall. The upcoming opponents also offer different recent histories: UConn beat Butler twice last season, while Xavier won both meetings against the Huskies.
The October 10 result is a completed match, not a new overnight final. No result is being claimed for either upcoming road match.
