TOLLAND — Tolland pulled away after halftime to beat Avon–St. Paul 26–8 at home Thursday, October 22, ending a two-game losing streak, according to The Collinsville Press.

The teams were tied 8–8 late in the first half. Tolland then held the Falcons to one first down after the break and scored the game’s final 18 points, the newspaper reported in Gerry deSimas Jr.’s dated game account.

JC Gonzalez carried 30 times for 155 yards and a touchdown, while Patrick Massaro added 84 rushing yards on nine carries, according to that report. The result moved Tolland to 4–2 overall and 2–2 in Central Connecticut Conference Tier IV, as reported for that game; those figures are not a new live standings calculation.

WFSB’s Dan Booth separately highlighted the defense: Brodyn McKinstry forced an early fumble, Matt Rodriguez recorded a sack and Gonzalez intercepted a pass. The station also reported Avon–St. Paul’s 61-yard touchdown pass and successful two-point conversion that tied the score before Tolland took control.

Both published accounts report the same final score. The Collinsville Press identifies the game as Thursday, October 22; WFSB’s later publication date should not be read as the game date.
