THOMPSON — Micky, an adult male dog in Thompson Animal Control’s care, is listed for adoption as the municipal shelter looks for a household suited to his energy and need to be the only pet.
The shelter’s description, carried on PetSmart Charities’ adoption service, says Micky enjoys walks, exploring the yard and an active household, with quiet time after exercise. It describes him as neutered, vaccinated and house-trained. These are the shelter’s descriptions, rather than an independent behavioral or veterinary assessment.
The narrative recommends a pet-free home without younger children, cats or small animals. An Adopt a Pet profile has a broader child-friendly tag, so prospective adopters should discuss their household directly with Animal Control rather than treating that tag as a suitability guarantee.
Thompson’s official Animal Control page says applicants must be at least 21 and submit an application before an appointment. The process includes a veterinary reference and housing checks: homeowners must provide ownership information, while renters must provide their landlord’s contact information.
The town asks applicants to email the completed form to ACO@thompsonct.org. Its published policy says placement is based on matching an animal with an appropriate household, rather than simply choosing the first applicant.
Micky remained listed on the adoption pages reviewed November 3. That is not a guarantee of immediate availability, approval or a scheduled visit. Applicants should use the town’s linked form and follow the shelter’s appointment process. The reviewed sources did not establish a dog-specific adoption fee.
