THOMPSON — Day Kimball Health’s hospice program has received a national caregiver-experience award based on families’ assessments of care during 2025, the health system announced November 5.
Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut earned Strategic Healthcare Programs’ Premier Performer designation, which recognizes the top 5% of eligible clients in SHP’s hospice survey database. The distinction measures caregiver and family experience; it is not a ranking of every hospice in the country.
SHP says recipients are ranked by their overall CAHPS Hospice survey score and must also meet or exceed its national average in each publicly reported category. Day Kimball said the award review included more than 1,800 providers and marked its program’s first top-5% recognition from SHP.
For northeastern Connecticut families seeking services, the program’s office is at 415 Riverside Drive, Suite 3, in North Grosvenordale. Day Kimball lists office hours of 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and a nurse available by phone or for a visit around the clock, seven days a week.
The program provides care in homes and other residences, with inpatient and respite options at Day Kimball Hospital and partner nursing facilities. Its bereavement services include individual support, adult and children’s groups, and community education, according to the health system.
Families can ask about services, eligibility and coverage by calling 860-928-0422 or 800-664-2442. Details are available on Day Kimball’s hospice and palliative-care page.
