STERLING — The official November 3 sample ballot places Sterling in Congressional District 2, state Senate District 18 and state House District 44, giving voters a defined local slate as the early-voting period approaches.
For governor and lieutenant governor, the ballot lists Ned Lamont and Susan Bysiewicz on the Democratic and Working Families lines, and Ryan Fazio and Matt Corey on the Republican and Independent lines. The Congressional District 2 contest lists Joe Courtney and George Patrick Austin.
The state Senate contest is between Joe de la Cruz and Heather Somers. For state representative in District 44, the ballot lists Samantha Derenthal and Anne Dauphinais. Party-line placement and cross-endorsement come from the ballot; this report does not infer a platform, biography or qualification from that placement.
The statewide ballot also includes secretary of the state, treasurer, comptroller and attorney general. Sterling’s registrar contest lists Cathy Levine and Tammy Etheridge. The probate-judge section shows petitioning candidate Carolanne Rowe while the Democratic and Republican positions are blank on the official sample ballot.
Early voting runs October 19 through November 1 at Sterling Town Hall, Room 20, 1183 Plainfield Pike in Oneco. Ordinary hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. sessions October 27 and 29.
Election Day polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on November 3. Voters should confirm their registration, polling place and any precinct-specific instructions through the Secretary of the State or Sterling’s registrars before traveling.
