STERLING — A 43-year-old Sterling man faces home-invasion and other charges after an alleged assault of a protected person early Saturday, according to CTPoliceLive’s October 26 report.
The outlet identified the accused as Douglas Beauregard and dated the response to about 1:40 a.m. October 24. It reported that state troopers were called to a domestic disturbance involving a person allegedly trying to enter a home he was prohibited from approaching under a full no-contact order.
CTPoliceLive reported that Beauregard entered the home, caused a disturbance and assaulted the protected person before leaving on foot. A State Police K-9 tracked him into wooded terrain, where he was taken into custody without incident, the outlet said.
The reported charges are home invasion, second-degree burglary, risk of injury to a child, second-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, violation of a protective order and third-degree assault.
The report lists a $100,000 cash or surety bond and a scheduled appearance at Danielson Superior Court at 9 a.m. October 26. That scheduled time has passed; Eastern CT News has not verified whether the hearing occurred, the result or any later custody status.
CTPoliceLive attributes its account to police. Eastern CT News read the full original post but has not obtained a corresponding State Police release or independently confirmed the allegations. This article was prepared from that attributed report, rather than firsthand reporting. Charges are allegations, and Beauregard is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
