STAFFORD — First Selectman William “Bill” Morrison says he will temporarily work remotely while recovering from injuries sustained in an ATV accident on October 12.
In a statement published on the town’s website October 13, Morrison attributed the accident to equipment failure. That is his account of the cause; an independent investigation finding has not been verified.
Morrison said he would stay in contact with municipal staff and the Board of Selectmen during his physical absence. He asked residents emailing him to copy his executive assistant at staffordtownhall@staffordct.gov. The office can also be reached at 860-684-1778.
Hearst Connecticut Media reported that responders went to Potter Road at 2:05 p.m. October 12 after two riders were ejected in a rollover. Citing Stafford Fire Chief Rick Hartenstein, it reported transport to Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The report said State Police were investigating.
Morrison’s statement says his granddaughter is okay and thanks first responders. No return-to-office date or detailed medical prognosis has been announced in the sources reviewed.
