SOUTHERN NEW LONDON COUNTY — Sensitive outdoor plants could face another cold night late Tuesday into Wednesday under a new National Weather Service Frost Advisory.

The advisory, issued at 2:02 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, covers the southern New London County forecast zone from midnight at the start of Wednesday, October 28, until 9 a.m. Wednesday. Southern Middlesex County is also included.

Forecasters expect temperatures as low as 33 degrees and warn that frost could damage sensitive outdoor vegetation. Tender plants left uncovered may be killed, according to the bulletin. The Weather Service advises taking steps to protect those plants before the overnight cold.

This bulletin concerns the southern county forecast zones; it does not establish the same temperature or advisory for every inland Eastern Connecticut town. It is a forecast for Wednesday morning, not a report that frost has already occurred.

The new overnight window is separate from the earlier advisory that ended Sunday, October 25. Readers should check the linked Weather Service product for any later changes before the advisory begins.
