SOUTHERN NEW LONDON COUNTY — A Frost Advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday for the southern New London County forecast zone, the National Weather Service said.

The Weather Service expects temperatures as low as 33 degrees, which could allow frost to form. The agency warns that frost can harm sensitive outdoor vegetation and may kill tender plants that are left uncovered.

The advisory was issued by the National Weather Service office in Upton, New York, at 2:42 a.m. Friday, October 23. It covers the southern New London County forecast zone, not the entire county.

Residents with cold-sensitive plants should protect them before Friday night. The alert concerns frost and vegetation; the reviewed bulletin does not announce school closures, travel restrictions or a broader emergency.
