SOMERS — Connecticut State Police say a West Haven man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that occurred near Main Street and Sunset Drive in November 2025.

State Police said Donald Chairamonte turned himself in at Troop C in Tolland at about 12:10 p.m. Thursday after being told there was an active warrant for his arrest.

Chairamonte was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to grant the right of way, according to the agency’s Friday release.

Troopers originally responded to the intersection area at about 7:35 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2025. The State Police release described the collision as fatal but did not identify the person who died or provide the crash sequence.

State Police said Chairamonte was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 3 in Rockville Superior Court.

The charges are allegations. Chairamonte is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
