PUTNAM — A new Saturday winter market opens November 7 inside the Putnam Municipal Complex, giving residents an indoor place to shop during a season the town has scheduled through April 24, 2027.

Market hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in conference rooms 112 and 113 at 200 School Street. The town describes the winter operation as a continuation of its summer market, bringing farm products, prepared foods and locally made items indoors.

The vendor rules require agricultural produce to be Connecticut-grown and artisan goods to be made by the seller. They prohibit buying processed foods for resale. Those requirements describe the market’s standards; the town has not published a complete opening-day vendor or product list on its market page. Westview Farm separately lists the November 7 market on its own calendar.

Prospective sellers must receive the market manager’s approval before participating. The town offers full-time, part-time, guest and nonprofit applications and asks applicants to submit the appropriate form, a W-9, insurance documentation and payment. The farmer/food full-time application lists $285 for the 25-week season; that is a vendor charge, not a shopper admission price.

The rules also allow space for nonprofit organizations at no charge when space is available, with insurance and applicable licensing still required. Questions about participating can go to putnamfarmersmarket@gmail.com or the town’s Economic and Community Development office at 860-963-6800, extension 201.

The town advertises the market every Saturday during the announced season. Shoppers should check the organizer’s current notices before a holiday or weather-affected visit; an individual vendor’s attendance may vary.
