PUTNAM — Members of the Putnam Police Department are putting away their razors during November to raise money for Connecticut families affected by cancer.
The department announced its participation in No Shave November on November 3. Officers may look less clean-shaven than usual during the month, but the change is part of the fundraiser, the department said.
The campaign benefits the Connecticut Cancer Foundation. Putnam police described it as a statewide law-enforcement effort to provide financial support to cancer families in Connecticut.
The idea is to donate money that participants would otherwise spend on shaving. The department also invited members of the public to support its team.
The announcement did not report a fundraising total. Readers seeking the department’s donation instructions can use its official announcement linked below.
