PUTNAM — A suspected lightning strike caused minor electrical damage and charring in a Cady Road shed Friday morning, November 6, according to an East Putnam Fire Department statement carried by WINY Radio.

Firefighters said they believed lightning struck a nearby tree, traveled through an underground electronic dog fence and reached the shed. That sequence was described as a preliminary explanation.

Crews checked the nearby residence and found no signs of damage, the department said.

Firefighters said they were clearing the scene at 11:05 a.m.
