PUTNAM — Old calendars filled with local historical photographs are being offered for a new purpose: artwork, collages and classroom projects.
The Aspinock Historical Society says the calendars were printed between 1994 and 2004 using photographs selected by society members under the direction of local photographer Paul Desautels, according to a November 6 announcement carried by WINY Radio.
Residents interested in a single calendar can visit the society’s archives on the second floor of the Putnam Municipal Complex, 200 School Street, Suite 250. The society’s website lists Tuesday-through-Thursday hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday visits require an appointment.
The announcement says Putnam Public Library will also have some calendars for people to browse or take home. Local teachers interested in a set for art, history, civics or genealogy lessons can call 860-963-6800, extensions 300 or 301.
For archive appointments, the society lists extension 301. The announcement does not set a pickup deadline.
