FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Patriots released punter Bryce Baringer from injured reserve Monday and re-signed linebacker Jose Ramirez to the practice squad, the team announced October 26. Offensive lineman Jacob Rizy was released from the practice squad.
Baringer, a sixth-round selection in 2023, averaged 47.9 yards on 219 punts across 51 regular-season games for New England, according to the team. He had been placed on injured reserve August 31.
Ramirez has spent time on both New England’s practice squad and its 53-player roster this season, appearing in two games on defense and special teams. His return adds an experienced option to the practice group; the announcement does not put him on the active roster.
Rizy originally joined New England as an undrafted rookie in May following his college career at Harvard and Florida State. The Patriots had re-signed him to the practice squad October 19 before Monday’s release.
