PRESTON — Resident State Trooper Kris Fisher urged residents to secure vehicles and homes in a September 24 notice reporting renewed vehicle break-ins in the area.
The notice recommends locking doors and closing windows even in a driveway, removing valuables and spare keys, and taking key fobs inside.
Residents are also advised to secure garage and basement entrances and use exterior lighting after dark.
The town notice does not list an incident count, identify suspects or establish a new October increase. It is a dated prevention reminder rather than an active-crime alert.
