NOANK — Frank Lewis has been recognized for 21 years of service as assistant superintendent of the Noank Water Company, with Senator Heather Somers highlighting his work helping keep the village’s water service running.
In a Facebook post shared with Eastern CT News, Somers credited Lewis with responding to water emergencies at all hours and helping bring the company’s recordkeeping systems up to date. She thanked him for his long commitment to the Noank community.
The accompanying photograph shows Lewis holding a certificate while gathered with other attendees, including Somers. Images in the supplied post also show a presentation and a cake thanking him for his service.
The recognition comes as the water company documents a broader effort to modernize its operations. In its May 19, 2026 annual report, published on the Noank Fire District website, Superintendent Ted Rathjen said the utility was bringing more than 60 years of infrastructure records into a centralized digital system and introducing a GPS-based field mapping program.
The report says the mapping technology can locate infrastructure to within six inches, helping staff isolate components during emergencies. Rathjen also specifically thanked Lewis, Chuck Toal and Dan Flight for their work serving Noank.
