NEW LONDON — Luis Oliver-Garcia received 10 years in federal prison and four years of supervised release in Hartford June17, 2026, according to the U.S. Attorney’s June18 announcement.
The case involved a Waterford storage unit searched June21, 2024. Prosecutors report recovering more than three kilograms of cocaine, approximately $30,000 and a firearm, plus additional cocaine and ammunition from a vehicle.
Oliver-Garcia pleaded guilty January20, 2026 to cocaine possession with intent to distribute and firearm possession in furtherance of drug trafficking.
A September14 DEA posting describes the same outcome. The earlier DOJ announcement establishes the actual sentencing date; this is older local case coverage, not a new September or October sentence.
