KILLINGLY — New London High School kept its unbeaten football season rolling Thursday night, defeating Killingly 61–6 on the road October 22.

The Whalers improved to 6–0. The final score is recorded on MaxPreps’ game page and matches TB860’s dated final-score graphic from Killingly High School.

The 55-point margin made it another emphatic result for New London. MaxPreps’ current schedule also lists wins of 62–0 over E.O. Smith and 71–0 over Stonington earlier this fall, making Thursday the Whalers’ third game with at least 60 points.

Next comes a home matchup with Ledyard on Friday, October 30, with kickoff listed for 6:30 p.m. on New London’s schedule. The Whalers then have Woodstock Academy at home November 6 before road games at Waterford and Norwich Free Academy.

The Day’s completed game report adds that New London’s leading runner gained 251 yards and scored six touchdowns before halftime. The newspaper lists touchdown runs of 18, 11, 52, 35, 20 and 40 yards, and reports that he and most of the starters did not play in the second half.

Coach Jack Cochran told The Day that the team had to adapt because its usual quarterbacks were unavailable. The result also reversed the matchup’s direction from 2025, when Killingly defeated New London 62–6.
