NEW LONDON — New London High School’s football team is 5–0 and has entered GameTimeCT’s statewide Top 10 at No. 10 in its October 12 poll.
The Whalers defeated Fitch 42–28 on October 9, according to the Norwich Bulletin’s Week 5 scoreboard and Hearst’s weekend football review. Fitch is based in Groton.
GameTimeCT describes New London as the first ECC team to reach its Top 10 this season, after three weeks just outside the ranked group. The media poll is separate from official playoff qualification or conference standings.
The team’s MaxPreps schedule still showed a pre-Fitch 4–0 record in the retrieved version, so that older header is superseded here by the dated postgame reports. Upcoming-game information will be updated after conflicting schedule listings are reconciled.
This report confirms the team result and poll position. It does not infer individual player statistics from the final score.
