STORRS — UConn President Radenka Maric is one of three finalists to lead the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the Universities of Wisconsin announced November 5.
Maric is scheduled to take questions at an in-person public forum Friday, November 13, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Central time — 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Connecticut — at Memorial Union in Madison. The forums will not be livestreamed.
The announcement names Illinois Urbana-Champaign engineering dean Rashid Bashir and provost John Coleman as the other finalists. Each candidate will also meet with students, staff, deans and outside partners.
The selection process remains open. After the interviews and forums, a special regent committee will recommend a candidate to the full Board of Regents, which makes the hiring decision. Finalist status does not establish that Maric will leave UConn.
Maric has been UConn’s president since 2022, according to the biography submitted for the search. Wisconsin is accepting candidate feedback through 10:30 a.m. Central time Saturday, November 14.
