STORRS — A dominant second quarter gave UConn control of its final preseason game Sunday, October 25, as the women’s basketball team defeated Army 86–50 at the M&T Bank Center at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, according to UConn Athletics’ official recap and box score.

Sarah Strong led the Huskies with 19 points. Allie Ziebell contributed 13 off the bench, and freshman Jovana Popovic added 10.

Army remained within three points after the first quarter, trailing 21–18. UConn then outscored the visitors 32–7 in the second period, with Strong supplying 10 points in that stretch, to build a 53–25 halftime lead.

The official statistics show a sharp difference in ball security: UConn committed six turnovers to Army’s 22 and recorded 15 steals. KK Arnold had four steals, while Strong, Kayleigh Heckel and Olivia Vukosa each collected seven rebounds.

Sunday’s result was a preseason exhibition, so it does not count toward regular-season or conference records. The Huskies’ next game is the regular-season opener against Cornell on Monday, November 2, at 5 p.m. at PeoplesBank Arena, according to the official recap.
