KILLINGLY — A guest-bartender fundraiser at the Golden Greek Restaurant & Pub raised $41,450.13 Thursday night for students at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School, according to WINY Radio.

The Killingly Business Association held its annual Tips for Tools event from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Dayville restaurant. The event featured local guest bartenders, trivia and a raffle.

The association says every dollar tipped or donated helps purchase tools and equipment Ellis Tech students need for skilled-trades education. Its event page says Tips for Tools is now an endowed scholarship fund intended to provide continuing support for students pursuing the trades.

Ellis Tech, in Danielson, offers 12 career and technical education programs alongside academic coursework, according to the school.

Organizers had not yet released the number of students or individual awards that will be supported by this year’s total. Eastern CT News will update this report if those details are announced.
