KILLINGLY — Dayville powerlifter Sherrie Simoneau completed all nine of her attempts at Sunday’s WPO competition in York, Pennsylvania, finishing with a 272.5-kilogram squat — approximately 601 pounds — according to the organizer-linked LiftingCast results.

The 20-year-old’s best lifts were 272.5 kilograms in the squat, 157.5 kilograms in the bench press and 212.5 kilograms in the deadlift. Together they total 642.5 kilograms, or about 1,416 pounds. The individual attempt sheet marks all nine lifts successful, including her final deadlift on a two-to-one judges’ decision.

LiftingCast identifies her team as Windham County Strength and places her second in the Women’s Multi Ply Open 90-kilogram class. That class listing supplies the placement reported here; an overall women’s ranking has not been independently established.

The World Powerlifting Organization lists Simoneau among the invited women for its October 18 Pro Super Finals at York Barbell, 3300 Board Road. The organizer describes the event as an invitation-only professional multi-ply competition, with lifting scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

WINY Radio published a Sunday evening account from Mike Behrle of Windham County Strength & Private Fitness identifying Simoneau as a Dayville resident and describing each best lift and her total as personal records. Those personal-best assessments are attributed to Behrle through WINY; the current meet results independently support the reported weights and successful attempts.

The performance brings a Killingly athlete onto a professional platform outside Connecticut. The photograph accompanying WINY’s report shows Simoneau on the WPO platform and is credited to Mike Behrle; it does not independently establish the weight of the pictured attempt.
