KILLINGLY — More Killingly High School seniors took the SAT in 2026 than in any of the previous four years, according to district results reported by The Day and the Norwich Bulletin on October 21.
The district counted 195 graduating seniors who completed the exam, up from 162 in 2025 and 136 in 2022. Hispanic and Latino participation increased from eight students to 25 in the latest year.
The participation gains describe access to testing rather than a rise in average performance. The reported overall SAT composite was 941 out of 1,600.
Advanced Placement results showed a different measure of progress: 86 students completed 155 exams, including 112 scores of 3 or higher. Twenty exams earned the maximum score of 5, compared with 15 the previous year, according to the Bulletin’s account of the district announcement.
A qualifying AP score can support college credit or placement, but each institution sets its own policy. The results do not establish that every qualifying student received credit.
The school’s official description confirms that its course offerings include AP and UConn Early College Experience programs. The underlying individual student records were not reviewed, and this report identifies no students.
