BROOKLYN/CHAPLIN — CTDOT is developing a project to replace traffic signals and improve pedestrian equipment at selected Eastern Connecticut intersections, according to its September 15 announcement.

In Brooklyn, full replacements are proposed at Route 6 and Shopping Center Drive and at the Tiffany Street Connector. Route 6 at South Main Street and Shopping Plaza Drive is listed for pedestrian upgrades.

Chaplin’s included location is Route 6 at Route 198 and Chewink Road. The project also includes Groton’s Route 12 intersection at Gungywamp Road and Lafayette Drive and several Killingly intersections.

Applicable pedestrian upgrades include countdown displays, accessible pushbuttons and sidewalk ramps. Design is scheduled for March 2028, with construction anticipated that fall subject to funding and approvals.
