CONNECTICUT — Rick Marro of Stamford pleaded guilty October 13 in Bridgeport federal court to receipt and distribution of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Judge Kari A. Dooley accepted the plea. Prosecutors say the investigation began in August 2023 following a report of exploitation involving a minor; investigators subsequently examined digital evidence. The minor’s identifying information and graphic details are omitted.

Marro was arrested January 18, 2024 and has remained detained, according to DOJ. Sentencing is scheduled for January 6; the announcement gives a statutory range of five to 20 years, not an imposed sentence.

Homeland Security Investigations and Stamford Police investigated the case. This statewide report relies on the October13 official announcement; no Eastern Connecticut incident is alleged.
