CONNECTICUT — Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont and Republican challenger Ryan Fazio are scheduled to meet Thursday, October 22, for their first televised debate of the governor’s race. The broadcast begins at 7 p.m. Eastern.
WFSB’s event announcement says the hour-long debate will be held at its Rocky Hill studios and carried live on Channel 3, its WFSB+ streaming channel and WWAX. WFSB and CT Insider are the co-hosts.
Anchor Erin Connolly is scheduled to moderate, with WFSB political reporter Susan Raff and CT Insider columnist Dan Haar asking questions. The station has announced post-debate analysis on WFSB+ at 8 p.m.
In her October 21 preview, Raff reported that affordability, inflation and the cost of living are prominent voter concerns heading into the debate. The candidates have offered different assessments of Connecticut’s direction: Lamont emphasizes confidence and progress while Fazio argues that residents struggling with costs need a change in leadership.
The debate is a chance to compare the candidates’ answers directly. The viewing information comes from the broadcaster; readers should check WFSB’s current schedule for any last-minute changes.
