Gov. Ned Lamont asked his cabinet for resignations Friday as he considers changes before his third term begins January 6, CT Mirror reported November 6.
The request does not itself establish which agency leaders will leave. Lamont told the outlet he wanted renewed energy in departments but did not identify specific changes. Chief of staff Matt Brokman will remain in his post.
For residents who depend on state services, the next concrete step is the selection and approval of agency leaders. Communications director Cathryn Vaulman told CT Mirror that commissioners must go through nomination and approval at the start of the next legislative session. She said Lamont sought resignations after his 2022 reelection as well.
The governor’s July 2, 2024 appointment announcement confirms that Brokman succeeded Jonathan Dach as chief of staff that day.
