WFSB’s Katie Coen reports that crews were checking East Hampton homes after a possible electrical surge Tuesday night, October 13. The outlet cited town leaders and reported 41 outages early Wednesday—not a live count.
WFSB says Town Manager David E. Cox identified affected areas near Terp Road, Schoolhouse Lane and Hog Hill Road. Eversource and fire crews were reportedly checking interior wiring before restoration because of possible damage and fire risk. Cox gave no restoration time.
The station reported a request to keep generators off until wiring checks were complete. Affected residents should obtain current property-specific instructions from the utility or town, not assume that an early report confirms a home is safe to reconnect.
Eastern CT News has not obtained the underlying town notice or a utility explanation. East Hampton is outside our three-county local area; this is regional reporting, not an Eastern Connecticut outage warning.
