COLCHESTER — The Route 2 westbound Exit 23 on-ramp is closed Sunday night for roadwork, according to CTroads.

The state traffic system said the ramp closure was reported at 9:22 p.m. October 25 and estimated a duration of 12 hours or less. That estimate is not a confirmed reopening time.

A separate CTroads entry says the right westbound lane is closed between Exits 25 and 20 for a 4.8-mile work zone through 6 a.m. Monday. That entry was reported at 7:55 p.m.

The live entries reviewed by Eastern CT News did not provide a specific detour for the Exit 23 on-ramp. Drivers should follow posted signs and traffic-control directions and check the live state table before traveling.

The Town of Colchester said in an October 2 project update that Route 2 roadway and bridge rehabilitation is underway between new Exits 20 and 25 and is scheduled to continue into 2027. That background identifies the broader project; it does not independently establish the timing of Sunday night’s ramp closure.
