BROOKLYN — Brooklyn Cares Community Center reported distributing 70 bags of groceries and 598 articles of clothing on October 10.

The center credited its supporters and volunteers in a same-day Facebook update. The figures are the organization’s own reported totals; they do not establish how many individual households or people received assistance.

In a separate October 13 post, the center described its Midwest Food Bank of New England pickup day and thanked Kazantzis Realty and the food bank’s staff and volunteers for preparing and loading donations. That post does not give a weight or item count for the pickup; the earlier 70-bag and 598-item figures refer to the October 10 distribution.

Brooklyn Cares operates a food pantry and community clothing closet at 31 Tiffany Street. Its published service information says the clothing closet serves people from any town or state, while the pantry serves Brooklyn residents who register and provide identification and proof of residency.

The center’s official website directs residents seeking pantry shopping appointments to call 860-779-3411, extension 311, and leave a message. Because volunteers run the center and published clothing-closet hours differ between its website and a newer social post, visitors should confirm the current schedule directly before traveling.
