ASHFORD — The town asks residents to arrange reviews or copies of Land Use Department property files before October 26, when those records will become temporarily unavailable for scanning.

The October 6 notice covers planning and zoning, health, building and wetlands files. Records remain unavailable until scanned or physically returned to the department. Completion is expected within about 30 days, not guaranteed for every file on a specific date.

PermitLink applications, Land Records information and the Assessor’s Database will not be affected, the notice says. Those alternatives are distinct from access to the department files being digitized.

A separate municipal notice lists the Land Use/Building Department as closed all day Wednesday, October 14. That one-day closure is not the start of the scanning interruption.

The scanning notice gives the department’s public number, 860-487-4404, for questions and arrangements. Confirm availability of the specific file needed before traveling.
