ASHFORD — The Last Green Valley, Eastern Connecticut State University and the ECSU Foundation have announced a partnership making historic Church Farm the heritage organization’s headquarters while preserving the site’s university research role.

Eastern’s October 8 announcement says the foundation retains ownership. A formal access arrangement will allow students and faculty to continue teaching and research work, including biology and environmental earth science activities.

The university describes the nonprofit’s presence as a way to support the property’s maintenance and stewardship. The Last Green Valley serves a 35-town National Heritage Corridor spanning eastern Connecticut and south-central Massachusetts.

The organization’s own event listings show public programming at Church Farm, 396 Mansfield Road. An October 14 family nature walk is listed for 10–11:30 a.m., with inclement weather canceling. A tree-and-plant walk on October 17 has been moved to 2 p.m.; an older 10 a.m. listing should not be relied upon.

The partnership announcement and event pages establish different things: one describes the property arrangement, while the others provide dated visitor opportunities. Check each organizer page before traveling, including any participation requirements or changes.
